Olivia Boeree – One of The Hottest Female Poker Players
If you like to play poker you probably already heard about her. If not, it’s time to know her better… Olivia Boeree (born in 1984) also, better known as Liv Boeree began her poker career in 2005 when appeared on the British Reality TV show. Despite of poker career, she is also TV presenter and model from England who won the 2010 European Poker Tour in Sanremo. Born in Kent, Boeree studied at Ashford School before going on to earn a First Class Honours degree in Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Manchester. She was the #1 ranked female player on the Global Poker Index as of November 2015, and #6 on the female all-time live poker winnings list.
Boeree also modeled in her early twenties for rock and alternative lifestyle features. She later modeled for some mainstream magazines, including a three-page feature in the November 2008 issue of Loaded Magazine, and had an online feature and photo shoot for Maxim UK. She is definitely one of the most beautiful female poker players.
What are the best and worst things about being a professional poker player?
Best is the lifestyle, obviously. Not having to be in an office eight-hours-a-day, five-days-a-week under someone else instruction. I had a normal job for a year and just couldn’t bear it. Freedom and control of one’s own time is hugely important and that’s one of the benefits of playing poker full time.
The worst is the variance and the downswings. Everyone runs bad from time to time and as such can experience big monetary downswings if you don’t know how to control that. The pressure it can exert on someone’s physical and mental health can be immense and it’s often the downfall of poker players if they then let it affect their playing ability. (Full interview)
